Coach Dan has been coaching softball for 10 years. His first year was as assistant to Jim Madrigal while coaching softball in Alsip, and who has now become a staple in the Tinley Park Rockers organization. Prior to joining the Rockers in 2019, Dan coached or assisted three different Evergreen Park softball teams to Illinois Little League State titles and countless tournament wins. He is a firm believer that fundamentals and communication are the keys to winning at this level. Not only between the players and coaches, but the coaches and parents.
Dan’s coaching style is dependent on the type of athlete that is on the field. “Every player is different; why train them the same.” His drills are geared toward individual enhancement and centered around team growth.
Lastly, his goal for each player is to ensure they finish the year better than when they started.
Coach Jeff has been coaching softball for the past 5 years. He coached Boy’s travel Hockey for 6 years in the early 2000’s which helped him understand how each player is different and how to get the best out of each player. His first 3 years coaching softball were spent at the Evergreen Park Girls Softball League starting in 2016 at the 8u level. He coached the All-Star teams in Evergreen Park each of the 3 following years and in his last year with EPGSL finished 3rd in the Illinois State Little League Tournament at the 10u level.
Coach Jeff came to the Rockers with Coach Dan Crespo starting in the Fall of 2018-2019 season as an Assistant on the 11u team. This past season (2019-2020) coach Jeff was the Assistant to coach Dan Crespo on the Rockers 12u team.
Coach Jeff’s always trying to find new ways to teach and develop players to get the most out of them. “The game of Softball has come such a long way in the last few years and there is a lot of good information available from High School and College softball coaches. If you are not willing to learn new things and adapt as a coach you are doing these girls that want to get better a disservice”. “Every day we step on the softball field is an opportunity to get better as a team and individually, that is our goal".
