James Marcano

My name is James Marcano and I have been coaching with the Tinley Park Rockers for 7 years. I have been coaching softball for over 14 years.  After playing baseball and wrestling in college, I went right into coaching softball and wrestling at the high school level. My wife and I have 4 kids, 2 daughters that play for the Rockers and 2 sons.  My coaching philosophy is all about teaching the fundamentals of this great game.  I believe in pushing and making the girls work hard.  I am a positive reinforcement kind of coach. I like to have competitive practices and keep the girls having fun. I coach positive behaviors and prepare your young ladies to play at the College Level.

Alix Mendoza

Alix has played softball since she was 4 years old and started training as a pitcher at age 11. Alix played her travel ball career for the Bulls/Sox Academy out of Lisle, IL. She attended Westmont High School where she also played on the varsity softball team and earned All-Conference in the Interstate 8 Conference, honorable mentions for All-Area, etc. Alix now attends Trinity Christian College where she continues to play softball for the Trolls. Alix majors in Recreation and Sports Management and minors in Coaching. She is also in the Red Cross Collegiate Leadership Program where she oversees blood drives on campus, recruiting donors/volunteers, etc. Alix coaches because she wants her players to develop the same drive and passion as she had during her time playing softball and to teach life lessons that can be applied on and off the field to best prepare players for the future.
